Purpose

A network diagram is essential for troubleshooting, onboarding new IT staff, and disaster recovery. This template provides a standardised format for documenting your network.

Elements to Document

Internet connection: ISP, speed, static IP (if any)
Firewall: Model, management IP, WAN/LAN interfaces
Core switch: Model, ports, VLANs, uplink speed
Access switches: Location, connected devices, PoE status
WiFi access points: Location, SSIDs, coverage area
Servers: Name, IP, role, OS
Printers: Name, IP, location, shared name
UPS: Location, capacity, connected equipment
